As a part of the Center for Hearing and Balance at Johns Hopkins,
the Lauer Lab studies the structure-function relationships in
various forms of acquired hearing loss and the efferent pathways providing brain-controlled modulation of activity in the ear. Studies use models of otologic disease and neurodegeneration, as well as comparative (species) otopathology.
