We used our lab meeting to discuss racial disparities in Baltimore and elsewhere. Here are some resources/actions we came up with!
Discuss the issues to increase awareness. Do a little bit—many people collectively—to combat economic and educational barriers. Support black-owned businesses by liking their pages on social media and making purchases. Donate to organizations that work to address disparities. Read Baltimore-based authors. Learn about and celebrate black historic figures in Baltimore. Some useful links below:

Congrats to graduating JHU students Nazrawit Retta, Adrian Jimenez, and Stevenson student Naasir Albright! Naz will join Teach for America in the Fall, and Adrian will start at the JHU SOM! Naasir will take a gap year as he considers postgraduate programs.
